The Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place and the East Brainerd Kiwanis Club held their annual combined holiday meeting and hosted the Chattanooga Police Street Crimes Response Team as the featured speakers.

The Crime Suppression Unit was started in 2007 by Chief Cooper and Mayor Littlefield as a response to gang related shootings/murders of 2006.

"The unit uses proactive techniques identifying areas and individuals which may be involved in gang activity. The Team presentation was extremely informative and enlightening, and our club expressed their sincere appreciation for the service of these individuals and our Chattanooga Police Department," officials said.

The Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place and the East Brainerd Kiwanis Club made a combined donation of $500 to the Chattanooga Forgotten Child Fund.  Accepting the donation was Sergeant Victor Miller from the Chattanooga Police Department's Fraternal Order of Police.  The Forgotten Child Fund provides toys to underprivileged children or those who otherwise would not have presents at Christmas.
