William Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, 70, passed away on Friday December 8, 2017 in Cleveland, TN.

He was born on Feb. 13, 1947, in Fowler, Ca., to the late Earl D. and Lillie Pearl Wilson, of Ellensburg, Wa. He was a Christian and attended Mt. Olive Church of God where he said many times that he had “found a place to come home to”. He serviced in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972. Woody worked as an X-Ray technician at Bradley Memorial Hospital for 22 years and Sweetwater Hospital in Sweetwater, Tn. for 16 years.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Flo Wilson, of Ft. Smith, AR, and Betty Cain, Charlotte Johnson, and Eva Warren, all of Ellensburg, WA; brother, Carl “Bounce” and sister-in-law, Ginger, of Lower Lake, CA; sister-in-law, Emma, of Moody, AL; and son, Shawn Patrick Wilson, of Cleveland, TN.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, of Cleveland, TN; children, Teresa (Mark) Renson, of Fairbanks, AK, son, Mack Anthony (Paulette) Wilson, of Port Orchard, WA, Brandi (John) Docev of Clarksville, TN, and daughter by choice, Vicki Frye, of Cleveland, TN; brother, Earl Jr. of Moody, AL and Mack Charles (Gloria) Wilson, of Ellensburg, WA; sisters, Corrine Mehal, Marjorie (Dale) Allphin, of Ellensburg, WA, and Jeanette (Fred) Bryant of Kittitas, WA; 8 grandchildren, Ben and Alena Vales of Fairbanks, AK, Brock Renson, of Fairbanks, AK, Abigayle Sinclair Wilson, Garrett Andrew Frye, of Cleveland, TN, William Isaac Wilson, of Cleveland, TN, Jack William Docev, of Clarksville, TN, William Isaac Wilson, of Cleveland, TN, Italy Hampton, of CT, and Stefanee Williams, of Port Orchard, WA; daughter-in-law, Laura Hurst Wilson, of Cleveland, TN, one great-granddaughter, Deliah Vales, of Fairbanks, AK; very special friend, and his stem cell donor, Sarah Blessing, from Fort Collins, CO, who gave him an extra year of life to enjoy his friends and family, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He leaves all with these profound words from his precious mother, Lillie Pearl Vaughn Wilson, December 15, 1914 – July 15, 1999
“There is only one life to live, twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

A celebration of life funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, at Mount Olive Church of God, with Pastor Gary Sears and Pastor Teresa Norman officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, Dec. 10, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, at 2419 Georgetown Road NW. As well as an hour prior on Monday at the church, from 1-2 p.m. service time.
