Jack B. Allen, Sr., age 80, of Unity Church Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in a Rome hospital.
A native of Chattooga County, Ga., he was born to the late Middleton Allen, Jr. and Naomi Bolling Allen, on May 30, 1937. Mr. Allen was a member of the Summervile First United Methodist Church, an entrepreneur, served in the U. S. Army Reserves, a member of Chattooga Lodge #704 F & AM, and a member of the Chattooga Shrine Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jacklyn Allen; a sister, Anne Lindsay; and brother, Middleton Allen, III.
Surviving are his wife, Gail P. Allen; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Bryant, Allen, Jr. and Martha Prince Allen, and William Michael Allen and Johnna Allen; grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen, John Allen, and Krista Allen; and a niece and three nephews also survive.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 26, at 3:30 p.m. from the Summerville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Judy officiating.
Internment will be in Bethel Cemetery, with Masonic Honors by Chattooga Lodge #704.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, from 12:30-3 p.m.
