Police have made an arrest in an armed robbery at Coolidge Park last Wednesday.

Demetrius Terry, 30, of 1104 Grove Street Court, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and unlawfully possessing a weapon.

Two females said they came to Coolidge Park to hang out that night. While walking through the area, they saw a black male and black female walking up and down Frazier Avenue.

The women said they continued to walk toward the park, then noticed that the couple was coming their way.

They found a spot near the river where there are several benches and a cement platform. They said as the couple approached they tried to appear that they were on the phone to some friends who were coming.

The women said the black male asked for their cellphones, then he pulled out a light-colored handgun. They then turned over their cellphones and purses to the couple.

They described the gunman as tall and light-skinned with freckles.

Police on Monday showed a photo lineup to the women and they picked out Terry.

Police said he was convicted of robbery in 2007 and is not suppose to be carrying a weapon.
