Barbara Jean Yarber, 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was a native of Georgia and spent the majority of her life in the Bradley County area. She was of the Church of God faith. She had worked in the food service industry at Bradley Central High School and the Holiday Inn. She loved going to camp meetings, cooking, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lake Maney and Edith Lucille Keys Maney; husband, Ben Yarber, and siblings, Bill Maney, Peggy Kepler, and Dennis Maney.
She is survived by one daughter, Edith Bowman and fiancé’ William Smith of Athens; two grandchildren, Amy Kline and husband Daryl of Athens, Angie Velt and fiancé’ Sampson Puckett of Dothan, AL; five great-grandchildren, Darius Velt, Michael Hester, DeShawn Velt, Damien Velt, and Austin Kline; three sisters, Bertha Hogan, Brenda Maney, and Teresa Wingo all of Gainesville, GA; three brothers, Roy Maney, Raymond Maney, and Ricky Maney all of Gainesville, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Dennis Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home.
