Scenic City Chorale Christmas Concert Set For Dec. 3

The Scenic City Chorale will present their Christmas concert Fantasia on Christmas Carols and
Songs of the Season on Sunday, Dec. 3, 3 p.m. at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road.

Parking will be available at the church lot and the parking lot next door.

The Concert is free and open to the public.  There will be a love offering.  Donations are tax deductible.

The 65 member all-volunteer chorale is directed by Ron Starnes.  Accompanists are Jim Martin and Freda Hart.  Bobbie Howell is the Chorale manager.

Concert selections include two selections from pens of composers Ralph Vaughan Williams and J.S.

Bach, opening with Bach's Christmas Cantata,"For Us A Child Is Born."

"Fantasia on Christmas Carols" by Williams is founded on traditional English Carols.

Both the Fantasia and Cantata will be sung with a small orchestra, organ and continued 
accompaniments.

Other selections include: Hasten Swiftly, Hasten Softly; Alfred Burt Carols; The Little Drummer Boy; The Twelve Days After Christmas; Sweet Little Jesus Boy (solo); Christmas on Broadway; Suite Three of The Many Moods of Christmas; and more.
