Avid Poet Had Some Work Published

Barbara Denise Oldham, 53, of Chattanooga, passed away on October 18, 2017.

She was of the Baptist faith, loved attending church and teaching Sunday school classes.

Denise was an avid poetry writer. She had her own blog, and even had some of her work published in greeting cards.

Denise loved to sing, loved children, but most of all she loved life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Shipley, brother, Charles Jenkins, and a sister, Vickie Crabtree.

Left behind to cherish Denise’s memory are her husband, Edward Oldham, niece, Kelli (John) Meadows, Nephews, Brian (Lauren) Jenkins, Kevin (Angie) Casper, and Neal, Tyler, and Jordan Jenkins, father, Otis Jenkins, and a brother, Jim (Patsy) Jenkins.

A Celebration of Denise’s Life will be held in the east chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 23, from 5-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
