Harry G. Carpenter, Jr., 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017. 

He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the J. Fred Johnson, Jr. Sunday School Class.  Mr. Carpenter owned Harry G. Carpenter,  CPA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry G. Carpenter, Sr. and Glenda Adams Carpenter; a brother, David G. Carpenter; a grandson, Joshua Lee Carpenter and a great-granddaughter, Sierra Carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Carpenter; four sons, Allan (Lori) Carpenter, Steve (Janice) Carpenter, Guy (Suzanne) Carpenter and Wesley (Dana) Carpenter; one daughter, Diane (Bubba) Walker; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Betsy) Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on  Wednesday, Oct. 18, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Courtney Krueger officiating.  Burial will be in Plowman Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 1–2 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 N. Moore Road or to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
