James Hixson

James Forrester Hixson, 68, of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Mr. Hixson retired from Carpenter's Local #74 where he served as president for over 20 years and was a member for forty eight years. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Hixson; mother, Pauline Driggins; brother, Fred Poteet.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah  Ferry Hixson; sons, Jamie (Jenny) Hixson of Chattanooga, Josh Hixson of Chattanooga, Jeremy (Leslie Ann) Worthington of Dayton, Josh (Shauntae) Worthington of Dayton; brothers, Bill (Kathy ) Hixson of Dayton  and Paul (Julie) Poteet of West Palm Beach, FL; sister, Claudia (Frank) Hamrock of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren.

There will be a time of remembrance for all family and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, at Carpenter's Local #74, 6260 Dayton Blvd., Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Car Crashes Into Motel 6 In Dalton; Driver, 17, Admits To Texting While Driving

The Dalton Police Department and Dalton Fire Department responded Saturday morning to a crash at the Motel 6 at Highway 41 and Tibbs Road.
