Thanks, Unum, For Strong School Grants

Wednesday, January 4, 2017

I want to thank Unum for their support of public education and our school system through awarding $50,000 in Strong Schools Grants to 60 teachers in 38 schools throughout Hamilton County. As a new member of the school board, it was a pleasure to attend the luncheon yesterday and observe the hard work and innovation of our teachers being rewarded.

Being brand new to the school board I realize there are difficult and sometimes negative stories about schools that are reported in the media. However, as the Unum luncheon showed, there are many positive stories of students achieving at high levels all over Hamilton County. I am glad these teachers received this recognition and so appreciate that Unum is such a huge supporter of our schools, teachers and students here in Hamilton County.
