U.S. Army Veteran Was Caretaker And Manager Of A Show Horse Ranch

Charles Roosevelt Holdren Jr., 66, of Ooltewah, passed away Thursday, January, 19, 2017, at his residence. 

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked a hard worker and loved to stay busy working as a caretaker and manager of a show horse ranch.  He also loved to spend time on the weekends at the VFW Post 2598 in Cleveland, TN.

He is was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. Holdren Sr. and Edith Holdren.

He is survived by his children, Jerry Holdren of Elizabethton, TN and Rachel Holdren of Cleveland; grandchildren, Callie, Haley, Josef, Chloe, Jayla, Cheyenne, Jamie, Aaron and Timmy; siblings, Donnie (Janice) Holdren, Billie Joe (Christine) Holdren, Dorothy Gouge, Betty Irick, Jim Holdren, Cleta (Chuck) Phillips and Judy Kay (Ralph) Smart; and his dog, Shadow.

A memorial service will be held in Elizabethton, TN at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
