TN Board Of Regents To Meet Jan. 27, To Consider Search Criteria For Chattanooga State President

  • Friday, January 20, 2017

The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in a special conference-call session Friday, Jan. 27, to consider and act on search criteria for the next president of Chattanooga State Community College.

Gov. Bill Haslam, chairman of the Board of Regents, has called the special telephone meeting of the board for 3 p.m. CST Jan. 27. Approval of the criteria for the presidency is the first step in the search for a successor to Dr. Flora Tydings, who is stepping down as president on Jan. 31, to assume her new role as chancellor of the Board of Regents system.

Outgoing TBR Chancellor David Gregory has appointed Debbie Adams, Chattanooga State’s vice president of student affairs and workforce development, to serve as interim president from Feb. 1 until the new president is appointed and arrives on campus later this year.

After the board’s approval, the selection criteria will be used to advertise the president’s position in a nationwide search.

The meeting is open to the public and media as listeners. Anyone wishing dial-in information for the call should contact TBR interim communications director Richard Locker at rick.locker@tbr.edu or 615-366-4417 before 4:30 p.m. CST Thursday, Jan. 26. Anyone with a disability who wishes to listen but requires special services to do so should also contact Locker by noonJan. 26, to request services.

The search criteria will be posted on the TBR website under President and Executive Searches at https://www.tbr.edu/hr/executivesearches
