The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead of them with a pair of matches in Knoxville, Tenn. on Sunday, Jan. 22. The Mocs take on Air Force at 10:00 a.m. (E.S.T.) and Tennessee at 5:00 p.m. at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
Both the Falcons and the Volunteers are starting team play this weekend. Chattanooga has a 6-1 win over Austin Peay on Monday at McCallie's Strang-Voges Tennis Center in its only action of the spring.
"The team is still on a high from our win on Monday," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper.
"We know both Air Force and Tennessee will be tough matches, but I want to make sure we are improving and learning a better quality game of tennis. Doubles will be important, so we need to stay aggressive."
This is the first time UTC has faced Air Force, but the 12th meeting with the Vols. Chattanooga is 3-8 all-time against Tennessee. The Mocs lost 4-0 last season, and just missed a huge upset in a 4-3 loss in 2015. UTC's last win in the series came in 1984.
The Vols have one individual ranked in the nation in singles. Senior Brittany Lindl in No. 64 in this week's ITA listings.
