Charles Vernon Cook, 84, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with The Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Charles passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Dickson, Tn., to the late Otho and Aline Sykes Cook. He had resided for the past 60 years in Chattanooga. Charles served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Japan during the Korean War. He worked for several years at the Cavalier Corporation in Chattanooga. In his later years, he loved watching Western movies and the Andy Griffith Show.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Ann Owensby Cook, daughter, Rebecca Cook both of Chattanooga, son, Timothy (Tina) Cook of Trion, GA, daughter, Patricia Nall, granddaughter, Denise Nall, great-granddaughter, Amber Nall, brother, Harold Cook, sister, Louise Lowery, all of Clarksville, TN.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 20, from 4–8 p.m., and Saturday morning after noon, prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, in the chapel with Brother Dallion Conkle officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery in Rock Spring, Ga.
