Marine Corps Veteran Retired From Terminix After Many Years

James Herbert “Jim” Parrish, Jr. died on January 16, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Chattanooga to the late James H. and Ruth Parrish. 

He was a 1964 graduate of Red Bank High School. Mr. Parrish served in the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Era. He was stationed in Washington, D.C. where he served in the honor guard.  He worked for 38 years in the pest control business and retired from Terminex. He was an avid reader. Mr. Parrish enjoyed writing and had several stories published.  One of his favorite pastimes was researching genealogy.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Joanne Parrish; daughter, Megan Parrish; stepchildren, Sean (Brooke) Gaskin and Jessica (Michael) Bradley; brother, Don (Sandra) Parrish; sister, Jane (David) Womack; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on SundayJan. 22, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be held.
