Hundreds Of Volunteers In Chattanooga Put Service Into Action Monday

  • Monday, January 16, 2017

Hundreds of Chattanoogans put service into action Monday for the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, commemorating the great civil rights leader.

For Chattanooga’s fourth year of “A Day On, Not a Day Off,” the Office of Multicultural Affairs mobilized local citizens, schools, neighborhoods, businesses, and organizations to help complete service projects around the city and advance Dr. King’s dream of opportunity for all. There were to be volunteer activities across the city, and East Chattanooga will be the focal neighborhood for this year’s service projects.

The projects began at 9 a.m. and were scheduled to run until 12:30 p.m.

The list of projects can be viewed here.
