Our Right To Protest

  • Saturday, January 14, 2017

I respect and support the right to protest.  American citizens want to be heard and to have their ideas taken seriously.  Successful protests have helped our nation progress in many ways.

I know that there are tens of thousands of protesters traveling to the 2017 inauguration, some arriving six days in advance.  Wouldn’t it be nice if the protest was productive, considering all of the hard earned money spent on travel expenses?

Can you imagine the amount of money that the protesters are spending on nothing? At this point, protesters are only causing trouble or seeking attention.  That money could be used to help the refugees in our country, the homeless, our veterans, hungry children, cancer research, etc.

The protesters risk encouraging the youth to be disrespectful and rebellious when it is not necessary. These people are causing so much division and hate.  If only the protesters would use that time and energy helping others and teaching unity to our youth, we could move forward.
