Charlotte Ann Goodwin Walker, age 75 of Chickamauga, died Friday, January 13, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was a life-long resident of Chickamauga and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, since 1968. Ann retired in 2016 from Chickamauga City School after 32 years of feeding countless children. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower garden or mowing her yard, reading books from her favorite author, or cooking for anyone who stopped by her house. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed.
Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, James A.R. Walker; parents, Paul Goodwin and Gussie Mae McGill Goodwin; sister, Louise Greene; and infant grandchild, Amanda Chastain.
She is survived by her loving children, Donna Posey Crabtree, Cindy Posey (Kenny) Whitworth, Rick (Deborah) Posey, Kay Posey Graham, Tammy Posey, and Johanna Posey (Nathan) Williams; brother, Clifford (Paulette) Goodwin; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; “Rusty” her four-legged companion; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Chickamauga, with Pastor Tim Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. They will also receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service on Monday at Fellowship Baptist Church.
