Widows Harvest Hosts Weekend Of Service To Honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In a weekend of service to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 70 high school students will work hand in hand to make improvements and complete beautification projects to the homes of three widows identified through Widows Harvest.

Those participating include Widows Harvest staff and more than 70 high school students from McCallie School and Birmingham’s Cathedral Church of Advent youth group. 

On Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., the students will complete yard work and do a roof installation at two different homes.

On Monday the work will continue from 9:30 a.m.-noon on those homes, as well as painting another home's exterior.
