Katherine Farmer
Katherine Phillips Farmer, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late Dan C. and Monte Carter Phillips and was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Central Coach Stanley J. Farmer.
Katherine was a graduate of Marion County High School and the Andrew Jackson Business College in Nashville.
Mrs. Farmer was employed at Davidson Department Store in Chattanooga as a bookkeeper when she first met Coach Stan Farmer.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ratz (Leo), of Chattanooga, niece, Marineal Lance, of Ringgold, best friend, Dianne Hale and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Royce Powell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers for Katherine will be the former Central High School football players and students who played for Coach Stanley Farmer. They will meet at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 3, at 9:45 a.m.
