Anthony Wayne Austin, 68, of Dunlap, Tennessee, died on Thursday September 29, 2016.
Anthony was an avid farmer and well respected throughout the community. He loved to hunt, fish, ride horses, garden, and spend time with his family. He especially enjoyed teaching his granddaughter Kirklyn to ride horses and the ins and outs of running the farm. He had retired from the maintenance department at Moccasin Bend Hospital working for the State of Tennessee in 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Earl and Louree Graham Austin; grandparents, Ruben and Cecil Graham, Charles Curtis and Carrie Austin; and sister, Mary Frances Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Prater Austin; daughters, Stephanie (Gary) Hobbs, Lisa (Gary) Shuford, Sherry (Ken) Potosnak, Patricia Smith and Tammy Lewis; grandchildren, Chelsea Farley, Shiann and Kirklyn Stockwell, Andy and Adam Shuford, Cory Prater and Cody Bouldin; great-grandchildren, Cannon Farley and Brayden Bouldin; sister, Earlene McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. CDT Sunday Oct. 2 in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Barker and Bro. Ralph Shoup officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
