Myrtle Louise Lane, 72, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, September 24, 2016 in a local hospital. 

She was formerly a nurses’ assistant at Erlanger Hospital and also formerly employed by Southern Management Company.  She was a member of Faith United Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Altrue Taylor Lane; brothers, Herman “Nick” Lane and Leonard “Pop” Lane; sisters, Pauline Lane Keith, Willie Jo Lane Stoudmire, and Elosie Lane Silmon. 

Survivors include her son, Darrius L. Higgins, Sr.; daughter, Keesha Bennett Marshall, both of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; devoted nephew, Lebron Gustus, Sr.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Friday, Sept. 30, at 11:30 a.m. at Faith United Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Larry Jones as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
