Domestic Violence Prosecutor Cindy Dyer Speaks At Voices Luncheon Oct. 5

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Women Fund of Greater Chattanooga is hosting the 4th annual Voices Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Stratton Hall.

Cindy Dyer, a former specialized domestic and sexual violence prosecutor internationally recognized for her work on gender-based violence, will be the keynote speaker. Her message will reinforce the Women’s Fund goal of advocating against the roots cause of violence against women. 

Ms. Dyer served as the director of the United States Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, a position she was appointed to by President George W. Bush. In her current role as vice president of the Human Rights team at nonprofit organization Vital Voices, Ms. Dyer travels the world implementing programs to effectively address violence against women

The Voices Luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. with the Power of the Purse Silent Auction beginning at 10:45 a.m.

Proceeds from luncheon support advocacy and philanthropic of Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga including work with legislation delegation on passage of laws to protect and advance women and children.
