Annie Ruth Calhoun
Annie Ruth Calhoun, 89, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
She was a member of Hamlett Chapel CME Church.
Annie Ruth graduated of Howard High School. She retired from Erlanger Hospital and was a caregiver at Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter and Orange Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eddie L. Calhoun, and son, William R. Calhoun.
Survivors include her children, George B. Calhoun, Edna R. Calhoun-Whisnant, Frank Johnson, James E. Carthen and Eddie L. Gore; 24 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Hamlett Chapel CME Church. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, Oct. 7, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
