Dalton Police Department Welcomes New Officer

The newest officer at the Dalton Police Department had his hiring confirmed by a unanimous 5-0 vote of the Public Safety Commission at its monthly meeting Tuesday morning. Officer Nick Smith completed his training at the police academy earlier this month and is now in the police department’s field training program.

Officer Smith is a 2016 graduate of the University of North Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He’s a native of Murray County, where he graduated in 2012 from North Murray High School.
