"The Innovation Office Hop" To Kick Off Startup Week Chattanooga

  • Tuesday, September 27, 2016

To kick off this year’s Startup Week events, the Innovation District will host The Innovation Office Hop on Sunday, from 2-5 p.m.

"All members of the community, particularly those less familiar with the district, are invited to join on this Sunday afternoon stroll between several of the cutting-edge offices in downtown Chattanooga’s Innovation District," organizers said.

The self-guided tour starts at Miller Plaza where participants can pick up maps highlighting participating organizations. Each office will have someone there to greet hop goers throughout the tour and chat to participants about their companies/organizations.

Several of Chattanooga’s fastest growing startups will be included. Bellhops co-founder Cameron Doody said, “Our goal is to remain forward-thinking and innovative as a team. That’s why we chose a modern and creative office space. We’re excited to show the community why we’re proud to call Warehouse Row home.”

Event goers will also have the chance to tour the offices of: Ambition; Bellhops; Carbon Five; CO.LAB; Coyote Logistics; Dynamo; H&D Corporation; Lamp Post Group; Society of Work; The CO-OP; The Edney; The Mayfield Annex; Tomorrow Building; VaynerMedia; Warehouse Row; and Whiteboard.

In addition to office visits, participants will be able to take hard-hat tours of the Tomorrow Building, a co-living residence marketed towards startup employees, creatives, and those new to the city, that will open in January.

Organizers hope that this event, the first of this year’s Startup Week, attracts locals who may have not visited Innovation District spaces before, but are curious as to what’s taking place in the neighborhood.

Ken Hays, president and CEO of The Enterprise Center, said, “This is an invitation to take a closer look at the renovated offices in buildings that most people in Chattanooga do not get to see. They have transformed into collaborative spaces. In some cases, the offices include full kitchens, game rooms, showers, and sleep rooms.”

To conclude the stroll, everyone is invited to convene at Warehouse Row between 4-5 p.m. for light snacks, drinks, and live music to celebrate the beginning of Startup Week.

Warehouse Row’s Property Manager Jen Mingola said she is excited to introduce more Chattanoogans to their community of offices. “We look forward to having the public take a closer look at the cutting-edge businesses and office tenants located among our upscale retail shops and restaurants.”
