Jerry Zumbro
Jerry Ray Zumbro, 71, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on September 24, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was a 1963 graduate of Rossville High School. After graduation he served in the United States Navy for three years. Returning to Chattanooga, he graduated from the University of Chattanooga and began work at TVA, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed mowing the grass and fishing. Jerry was a member of the Rossville Church of Christ. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, father, uncle, and friend. He had a genuine love for others and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Zumbro, Murfreesboro, and stepfather, Joe W. Jackson, Rossville.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Odell Jackson; sisters, Nancy (George) Newton and Helen Jackson; brother, Bo Jackson, all of Rossville; daughter, Kim (Matt, Serenity) Riden of Chattanooga; niece, Allison (Mid) Durham of Lafayette; nephews, Jason Newton, Kameron Jackson and Joey Durham; aunt, Mary Jane McKee of Murfreesboro, TN; very special friend, Margie “Granny” Bates; and his pet companion “Little Bit.”
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the South Crest Chapel with Jack James officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 26, from 4-8 and from 10 until the time of the service on Tuesday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
