Patrol Cars Donation To Kevin Muhammad's Nation Of Islam Sets A Dangerous Precedent

Re: City Police donating two patrol cars to Kevin Muhammad's Nation of Islam:

While I know it's unpopular to mention the wisdom of separation of church and state, this sets a dangerous precedent and should meet with concern from everyone who values religious and secular freedom.

What's next? Southern Baptists getting old city parking scooters to patrol church parking lots in case someone might be dancing? Pentecostals getting old ambulances to take those un-healed at services for real medical care? Lutherans getting old city fire trucks to spray down the flock for baptisms?

As if that's not disturbing enough the Nation of Islam, not only a religious group but one of the wealthiest black political groups, is also considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and SPLC is not considered a bastion of conservatism.

Can you imagine if Police Chief Fred Fletcher wanted to give two patrol cars to the Aryan Nation to patrol Heritage Landing? Perhaps Chief Fletcher can Install internet services in his office so he can do the same simple search I did before making his next political move.

Whatever the reason or supposed cause doesn't matter. This is clearly a violation and should and will result in legal action.

Sell the old equipment at auction and the highest bidder can donate the items to whoever they wish, but keep any hint of government and religion separate.

Wouldn't that be cheaper for the city than lawsuits?
