Betty Edwards, 85, of Birchwood, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

She was the retired owner and operator of Birchwood Video. Her passion was taking care of her great-granddaughter. She attended a local Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis E. H. Smith and Annie Belle Rose Smith; her husband Thomas Leon Edwards; and one son, Mitchell Lee Edwards.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Thompson (Charles); her daughter, Judy E. Richardson of Birchwood, TN; two grandchildren, Lisa Belk of Birchwood, TN and Valerie Striker (George) of Cleveland; three great-grandchildren, Baylee Striker, Skylar Striker and Amelia Saen; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, conducted by Reverend George Warren. Pallbearers are Michael Smith, Jeffery Owens, Greg Bacon, Bradley Bacon, Jessie Ray Howard and Garry Johnson.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday Sept. 26 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. Interment will follow at the McInturf Cemetery in Birchwood, TN.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
