Longtime Piano Accompanist For Several Local Churches

Blanche Peck Sanders, 95, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, September 22, 2016 in a local health care facility.

A lifelong resident of Red Bank, Blanche was a 1938 graduate of Central High School.

Her love of music was instilled in her by her father at an early age. She was a well-respected musician, providing the piano accompaniment for many years at Red Bank Baptist, White Oak Baptist, Alpine Baptist, and Tyner Baptist hurches. 

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Ulus and Ida Legg Gross; her husbands, Reece A. Peck and A. Marvin Sanders; four brothers, Arnold, Ebb, Lynn, and Glynn Gross; sister, Helen Gross Etter; and stepson, Doug Sanders.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Peck (Charles) Keith; son Alan Wade Peck (Suzy Simpson); stepson, Bryan (Pam) Sanders; granddaughters, Kelly Duncan, Katie (Kevin) McKenna, Connie Sanders; great-grandsons, Mitch, Wesley, and Reece  Duncan, Owen and Brecken McKenna; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Stuart Heights Baptist Church, Chattanooga Campus, 3208 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.  Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the church.    

Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stuart Heights Baptist Church, or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
