Janet Shelton McTaggart Chapman, 65, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Monday, August 29, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Cleveland.

Janet was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a native of Benton, TN but lived in Pasadena, TX for 20 years.  She worked many jobs over the years, a seamstress at Carwood, an exterminator, a sales associate at Western Auto and a CNA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Patterson Shelton; brother, Gene Shelton; nieces, Pamela Lane, Jeannie Kaylor; and nephew, Eddie McTaggart.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Benny) McTaggart Villanueva and Vicky (Troy) McTaggart Cannon; grandchildren, Chris (Lara) McTaggart, Judy (Josh) Villanueva Hembree, John (Jessica) Cannon, Bridgit Villanueva, Jospeh Villanueva and Amber (Ann) Cannon; sisters, Johnnie Sue Walden and Judy (Eddie) McTaggart; brother, Ricky (Angie) Shelton; special friends, Anna and Buddy Bumgardner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Old Ocoee Cemetery.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Higgins Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
