Melvin Leon Turner, 67, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at Chatsworth Health Care.
Melvin was born January 22, 1949 in Dalton, GA, to the late Clyde and Jessie Turner; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Turner; and sister, Irene Hill.
He was a Past Master of Tilton Lodge, Past Master of 43rd Tri County Convention, Scottish Rite and was a member of the Tilton Lodge #291.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewell Teasley of Dalton, GA, Wanda and Shane Crump of Tunnel Hill, GA and Kathy and Ronnie Kirkland of Dalton, GA; special nephew, Eddie White of Tunnel Hill, GA; special friend, Joe Yother of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Melvin Leon Turner will be held Friday Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Alfred Turlley officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1.
