Donnie Barbee
Donald "Donnie" Lynn Barbee Sr., 61, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday morning, August 30, 2016 to receive his new heart.
A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Donnie had been part of F2W Church, coordinating Raise Your Praise Singing.
Donnie was an avid CB radio operator, “FatRat.” He worked and raced many years at Boyd’s and Cleveland Speedway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Barbee; brothers, Charles, Alton and Robert Allen Barbee; father in law, Raymond Staton; mother in law and father in law, Frances and Robert Craig.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Barbee; children, Lynn (April) Barbee, Joseph (Karen) Barbee, Doodle (Justin) Hardy, “other sons” Jon Sanders and Ronnie Antle, all of Ooltewah; sisters, Eva (Ronald) Harris, Janie Mitchell, Yvonne Varro; brothers, Teddy and Gene Barbee of Ooltewah; sisters in law, Edith Barbee, Dalton, Ga and Lavada White, Ooltewah; grandchildren, Jonathan (Brandi) Barbee, Shantel Barbee, Allie Barbee, Jade & Kiara all of Ooltewah and Joseph Barbee Jr., Michigan; great-grandchildren, Coraline and soon to be Isaac; lifelong best friend, Richard Burton, mother-in-law, Jewel Staton, McMinnville TN: brothers and sisters-in-law Vivialee (David) Hooper, Allen (Rhonda) Staton, and Wade Staton all of Ooltewah: many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Donnie’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Lisa Daughtery and Reverend Josh Staton officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, from 12-4 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
