Signal Mountain Firefighters Locate Lost Hiker At Rainbow Falls Trail Area

Signal Mountain firefighters located a lost hiker at the Rainbow Falls Trail area on Saturday afternoon.

At 5:35 p.m., Signal Mountain firefighters responded to 300 Ohio Ave. regarding a female hiker lost on the trails.

At 5:45 p.m., fire officials on the scene reported rescue teams entered the woods and hiked about one mile on the trail until they made physical contact with the female hiker at 6:04 p.m.

Once rescue personnel confirmed there were no injuries to the hiker, they began to walk her out of the woods and arrived back at the command post at 6:33 p.m.

During the rescue efforts, Walden's Ridge Emergency Services stood by at Signal Mountain's fire station for any additional emergency calls in their district. Hamilton County EMS was also on the scene for any potential injuries to rescue personnel.
