Jessie Wayne Collins, 96, of Cohutta, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Ridgewood Manor Health Care.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Mr. Collins was a retired farmer, truck driver, and electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Collins; a daughter, Patricia C. Higgins of Cohutta; brother-in-law, Ken Griffin of Coco Beach, FL; granddaughter and husband, Crystal and Christopher R. Gilreath of Memphis, TN.; great-grandchild, Samuel D. Gilreath of Memphis, TN.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. John Bagley officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Cohutta Baptist Church.
