Korean And Vietnam Wars Veteran Held Long Career At The Hamilton County Nursing Home

Thomas E. Reno, Jr., 83, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on Aug. 23, 2016.

He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served his country proudly for 22 years. After moving to Ooltewah in 1978 he worked at the Hamilton County Nursing Home for 20 years and retired in 1998. He was a very loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was adored and deeply respected by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Halbrook Reno, of Ooltewah, son, Timothy (Donna) Reno, of Tampa, FL, and daughters, Connie Reno Bashor (David), of Ooltewah, and Stacy Reno Snyder (Jeff), of Ooltewah. He had 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Mac.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor David Bashor and Timothy Reno officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, at the First Assembly of God Church, 7608 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

In lieu of flowers, a fund will be established to help Tom and Pat’s great-niece and nephew with their special needs education.
