World War II Veteran Worked For Many Years At Chattanooga Glass Company

Frank Smith, 95, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Monday, August 22, 2016, at his residence.

He was born in Franklin, Tn., to the late James and Mae Morris Smith.  Frank was a member of St. Elmo Church of Christ.  He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran having served in the Pacific Theater.  He was also a member of the VFW.  Frank had worked for Chattanooga Glass Company and Pinkerton Security for many years. 

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Polly Smith; sons, Steve (Donna) Smith, and Bobby Joe Smith; three grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, in the chapel of Wann Funeral Home with Minister John T. Smithton and Minister David Parr officiating.  Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Elmo Church of Christ, 4713 St. Elmo Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37409.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Wann Funeral Home.
