A 24-year-old Hixson woman has been charged with leaving her children, ages three and two, home alone.

Krystina Freeman, of an apartment complex on GreenDale Way, was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.

In the incident on the night of July 28, a woman observed a small boy wearing a diaper alone in the parking lot. She was able to locate where he lived.

Ms. Freeman said she went to the store, leaving the boy with his two-year-old sister, who was asleep.

She said she was shocked that the boy was able to get outside.

The father came home, and police decided not to call in Child Protective Services.
