The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s track and field team tied for 12th in the nation with a 3.57 GPA the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today.
The Mocs tied with Arizona State and DePaul on the list that included 221 Division I teams. San Francisco posted the highest GPA at 3.68 followed by Portland (3.671), Lipscomb (3.67), Butler (3.642) and Loyola Marymount (3.64).
This is the third straight year the women have ranked among the nation’s best including a No.
2 ranking last year with a 3.73. In 2014 the Mocs were 10th with a 3.54.
The women had 18 members named to the UTC Dean’s List and 20 on the UTC Athletics Director’s Honor Roll. Twenty were named to the Southern Conference Honor Roll and nine members received the SoCon Commissioner’s Medal for Academics with a GPA of 3.8 or better.
Hannah Chamblin, Rebecca Greenwall, Keeley Stewart, Maddison Melchionna and Jessica York each posted a 4.0 GPA for the year.
