CHI Memorial Announces 2016-2017 Board Of Directors

CHI Memorial announces officers and members of the board of directors for 2016-2017. 

Sister Judith (Judy) Raley, Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, will continue in her role as chair of the board of directors.

Sr. Raley moved to Chattanooga in 1995 to provide spiritual care for patients, families and staff at CHI Memorial. As CHI Memorial’s senior vice president of mission from 1996-2007, she led efforts to foster consistent and ongoing organizational articulation, appreciation and internalization of CHI Memorial's mission and values by integrating them into the organization’s planning, overall decision making, operations, and evaluation.

In 2007, Sr. Raley returned to Nazareth, Ky. where she served as the Sisters of Charity Nazareth Provincial of the Western Province until her retirement in 2013. She joined the CHI Memorial’s board of directors in July 2009.  

James H. Pesnell and Corinne A. Allen will continue to serve as vice chair and secretary respectively.  Charles L. Arant continues his service as immediate past chair and chair of the governance committee. 

Arlene Donowitz, M.D. and Matthew H. Kodsi, M.D., Ph.D., chief of staff, are new members of the CHI Memorial board of directors.  They join board members Jill M. Aplin, chair, quality and value committee; John F. Boxell, M.D.; Christopher P. Crimmins; Sister Gertrude Foster, SCN; Robert C. Greving, chair, audit and compliance committee; James L.E. Hill; Sister Dorothy Jackson, SCN; John P. Nash, M.D.; Cynthia Nesson, chair, physician transaction review sub-committee; Larry Schumacher, market CEO, CHI Memorial, and senior vice president, operations, S/E division, Catholic Health Initiatives; Mary P. Tanner, Ph.D.; William P. Warren, M.D.; and Jeffrey T. Wilson, D. Min.
