Dr. Larry Sargent, plastic surgeon renowned for his facial reconstructions, is leaving Chattanooga. He has helped multiple children, many from other countries, who were born with severe facial deformities.
The senior partner in the Plastic Surgery Group announced his departure from the group.
Dr. Sargent will leave the practice and Chattanooga in October to work for a major children’s hospital, continuing to specialize in craniofacial surgery.
He said, “I’m most proud of the patients we’ve had, particularly the children we’ve helped. I just feel very fortunate.
I think we
’ve done a great thing here, but I just have a lot more I want to accomplish.
”
Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Sargent joined the Plastic Surgery Group in 1987. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics and multiple prestigious plastic surgery professional societies.
Fellow Plastic Surgery Group partner Dr. Woody Kennedy said, “We wish Dr. Sargent well in this next chapter of his career. His contributions to the craniofacial community are unmatched.”
The Plastic Surgery Group includes Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Mark Brzezienski, Dr. Marshall Jemison, Dr. Jason Rehm and Dr. Jimmy Waldrop.
The Plastic Surgery Group, founded in 1958, is Chattanooga’s first and largest plastic surgery practice.
