James County Historical Society Meeting August 7

  • Monday, July 25, 2016

The next meeting of the James County Historical Society will be held on Sunday, August 7 at the Ooltewah United Methodist Church at 6131 Relocation Way in Ooltewah, Tennessee.

The program will be presented by Dennis Billings, who will talk about James County; locations, buildings, families and anything having to do with James County.

James County was created by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly in 1871 from lands that were formerly part of Hamilton and Bradley counties.  The county seat was at Ooltewah.  Following the bankruptcy of James County in 1919, residents rejoined either Hamilton or Bradley counties.

Bring a friend, your memories and fun stuff to share in the discussion with Dennis.

Be sure to follow the Facebook Page for current information.
