Air Quality For Saturday Is Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups

A Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Ozone has been issued for Saturday.

This is in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. Children, people with lung disease, and active adults should cut back or reschedule outdoor activities. 

The Air Pollution Control Bureau asks that you reduce trips and postpone lawn care on Saturday.

Additional Information:
Sensitive groups may experience health effects including:
coughing and wheezing
shortness of breath
reduced lung function
potential asthma attacks
increased risk of respiratory infections

Reduce Exposure:
plan strenuous outdoor activities during the morning when pollution levels are typically lower
choose less strenuous activities (e.g., walk instead of jog)
reduce outdoor time

Take Action:
Drive less - combine errands and reduce trips
Walk or ride your bike
Postpone lawn care
Avoid excessive idling of your vehicle
Turn up the thermostat 2 - 4 degrees
