Independent Candidate Perry Lamb To Turn In Signatures For Walker County Commissioner Race

  • Thursday, June 30, 2016

Perry Lamb said he would pay his qualifying fee on Thursday morning as an Independent candidate for Walker County sole commissioner.

He said he would then finalize the process on July 8 by delivering the 16,50 signatures he has collected that are required by law to put him on the November ballot.

His campaign said, "This accomplishment is a first for Walker County as no other candidate in recent history has managed to gather the required signatures to be put on the ballot."

Mr.  Lamb said, “As an independent I have a great opportunity to work with both Republican and Democratic parties and give a voice to the people who so clearly feel ignored. My goals are to pull Walker County out of its debt and high taxation to set it on a stable and productive economic path."

Incumbent Bebe Heiskell is also planning to run as an Independent. She does not have to collect signatures since she is already in office.

Shannon Whitfield is the Republican nominee.
