M. Eloise Oldham Lewis, of Ooltewah, peacefully died on June 29, 2016.  
 
She was born Aug. 31, 1918, and was age 97 years and 10 months. She was a member of the Ooltewah Baptist Church for over 70 years and was retired from the Hamilton County School Systems, Cafeteria Food Service Department.
 
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Lewis; parents, Charlie and Minnie Young Oldham; sisters, Annie Oldham, Elba Grubb, Ruby Truett, Lillian Bennett, and her brother, Eugene Oldham.
 
Survivors include her nieces, Barbara Burns, Faye Lawson, Joyce Bennett Turner and Reta Bennett; nephew, Frank Bennett; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
 
A special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Chattanooga and to the staff at Standifer Place, Dalton Towers Second Floor, for your loving care you gave to Eloise.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, in the Valley View Chapel, with Reverend Larry Williams officiating. Interment will be in Ooltewah Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
