David Cain

David Edward Cain, 75, of Ringgold, died on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia, and was a deacon and former choir director of Nellie Head Baptist Church. David was a graduate of Gordon Lee High School and Nashville Auto Diesel School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John Matt and Minnie Lee Ellis Cain.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 yrs., Mavis Brock Cain; children, Daphne Cain (Scott) Eager of Carrolton, TX and Amy Cain (Steve) DeCou of Suwanee, GA; sisters, Judy (Larry) Coulter, Mary Swafford, and Martha Straub; grandchildren, Ashley (Jake) Horvath, Danielle Eager, Austin Eager, and Sadie DeCou; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at Nellie Head Baptist Church, with Dr. Ernest Groce and Reverend James Sprayberry officiating. 

He will lie in state on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at the church. Interment will follow in the Nellie Head Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the funeral home. 

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home-Wallis Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
