Charles Ernest Williams, 66, of Rossville, Georgia, died on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at his residence.
A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a former employee of Crystal Springs and Diamond Carpet and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga. Charles was an avid knife collector and Georgia Football fan. He was a true Southern gem who lived his life solely for his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Trundle Williams Sr., and Sara Sue Thomas Williams; sister, Rhonda Williams Paulk and two brothers, Russell Thomas Williams Jr., and David Syndey Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elisa Dale Cline Williams of Rossville; two children, Chuck (Christine) Williams of Ringgold, and Erica “Susan” Williams (Brandon) Tate of Overland Park, Kansas; brother, Ted (Patti) Williams of Ringgold; four sisters, Patricia (Mike) Whaley of Ringgold, Mary (Rod) Hartgraves of Cleveland, Trudy Hayes of Rock Spring, GA., and Marie (Jeff) Moore of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Beau Williams, Gunnar Williams, Cambelle Williams, Patrick Tate, Madelyn Tate and Oliver Tate, several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 7, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Colbert officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Healthcare System Foundation.
