The case in which Bobby Stone is charged with domestic assault against his wife, advisor to Mayor Andy Berke Lacie Stone, has been postponed until Aug. 9.

Officials said there will be no further action until the TBI completes its investigation.  The case had been set Tuesday morning before general sessions court Lila Statom.

The TBI is believed to be looking into all aspects of the case, including how it was handled by police chief Fred Fletcher.  Ms. Stone went directly to the home of Chief Fletcher after the incident in which the couple scuffled over a cell phone.

A number of media outlets were present when Stone appeared before Judge Statom.

Before the parties left, Judge Statom reminded everyone that there was to be no contact between Stone and his wife.
