Brooks, Dewey Thomas

Dewey Thomas Brooks, 73, died on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in a local hospital. 

A longtime resident of the Chattanooga area, Mr. Brooks was retired from Pro-Coat Painting. 

He was a member of Northside Community Church for over 35 years. 

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Gladys Brooks; son, Randall Thomas Brooks and a sister, Judith Ann Julian. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Rose Mary Brooks; son, Anthony Scott Brooks; sister and brother-in-law, Cecilia Kathleen “Susie” Smith and Thomas A. Smith, many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Mitchell Reaves and the Reverend Zachary Wyatt officiating. 

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 30, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Northside Community Church, 819 Mississippi Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

The family requests friends attending the ceremonies to refrain from wearing heavy perfumes.
