Gary Steven Farmer, 64, of Ringgold, Georgia, died at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

He was born Nov. 22, 1951, in Cleveland, to Vernon and Nora Boring Farmer.

He was a 1970 graduate of Central High School and a member of Iron Workers Local 704.

Gary enjoyed motorcycle riding, boating, garage sales, collecting antiques and driving his El Camino.  He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former member of Grace Works Church.  He loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren.

He loved his neighbors, especially the Odum family.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Gibb Farmer; son, Shane (Amanda) Farmer; stepsons, Chase (Jami) Manning and Spencer Manning; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Cayden Farmer and nephew, Chase Cowell, and best of the best, Barry Cowell and Mike Carter who have always been there for him, and his best friend, Melista.

Funeral service will be at noon, Tuesday, May 31, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wesley Odum officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would like to express their great appreciation to the oncology department and nursing staff at Memorial Hospital for their care.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, and from 11 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, May 31, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
